Council amalgamations public forum – Wednesday 18 May 2016

Council amalgamations forum 18 May 2016

Gloucester Shire Council amalgamations forum

There is a very real possibility that the Baird LNP Government will force through amalgamations of local government councils around the state. The latest proposal addresses three councils in the Lyne electorate: Great Lakes, Greater Taree and Gloucester. Dungog also remains on the table.

A public forum is being held by Gloucester Shire Council to give residents an opportunity to voice their concerns and ask question to political leaders. A number of State and Federal members have been invited to attend. Councillors will be asking questions about long term employment for local employees and responsibility for the regional road network.
